Introduction

Comfy just put an agent inside the canvas. Comfy Agent is live for everyone on Comfy Cloud (Desktop “in a few weeks”): you describe the image or video job in plain language, and it plans techniques, wires nodes, fixes errors, and iterates — while you keep editing the same graph in real time.

What shipped

How it behaves on the canvas

The agent knows current models, extensions, and workflow patterns. Example asks from the launch post:

  • “Update this same generation to compare 3 more video models.”
  • “Explain what this workflow does and where it’s slow.”
  • “Re-run my product-shot workflow on these 20 images.”

You can reference another workflow, drag a library asset, or mention a node. The graph assembles in view; if you move nodes mid-run, it notices. Every ComfyUI parameter stays editable — the agent is a collaborator on your canvas, not a black-box render button.

Early maker proofs

Three creators worked with the agent ahead of launch:

  • 852話 / Andidea — original character YUI story work: look exploration, scene variants, and generation comparisons in one agent-assisted flow (Comfy also published a follow-up story piece the same day).
  • Doug Hogan — VFX path from still to isolate / mask / depth / normals compositing passes in a single workflow.

Open the Agent panel, claim the free initial chats, and give it a real brief — e.g. product-photo → twenty on-brand ad variants across four aspect ratios.

Where to run it today

  1. Sign into Comfy Cloud and open the Agent panel.
  2. Spend free starter chats, then Comfy Credits (same pool as Partner Nodes).
  3. Watch for Comfy Desktop availability in the coming weeks if you prefer local.

Caveats

This is a Cloud-first product launch, not open weights and not a model drop. Quality still depends on the models and nodes the agent chooses — treat it as a fast workflow co-pilot, then audit the graph before you ship hero frames.
