Comfy API: Ship Your Graph as an Endpoint

Introduction
After Comfy Router and Comfy Agent, Comfy just closed the last mile for makers who already live in graphs: Comfy API is live for everyone on a paid Comfy plan. Turn a workflow you built in ComfyUI into a versioned, autoscaling HTTP endpoint — custom nodes, LoRAs, models, and Python deps packaged together — without rewriting the graph on someone else’s GPU host.
What shipped
- Product: Comfy API (Comfy-Org Developer Platform)
- Where: console at platform.comfy.org; announce post Sep 30, 2026
- Modality: production API for your image/video (and broader) ComfyUI workflows — not a new diffusion model
- Access: paid Comfy plans starting at Standard; GPU time billed by the second, storage prorated hourly
- Concrete path: Build → immutable Release → managed endpoint URL; or
comfy build init/comfy build push --releasevia comfy-cli + Comfy Skills
Why it matters for makers
Self-hosting Comfy on RunPod/Modal still works. Comfy API’s bet is different: the hard part was never “rent a GPU,” it was reassembling the exact ComfyUI environment — node versions, model files, Python pins — every time you put a workflow behind an app.
A Build captures ComfyUI version, custom nodes, models, and deps. Cut an immutable release, deploy it, and the environment you tested is the one that serves. Team/Enterprise can share that pinned Build; scale-to-zero is available when idle GPUs shouldn’t burn money.
How to try it today
comfy build init
# Scans this ComfyUI install — custom nodes, models, pinned deps
comfy build push --releaseOr export a workflow / Desktop snapshot into the Builder UI, resolve conflicts, cut a release, and grab the endpoint. The Comfy SDK already talks to Comfy API and Comfy Cloud API; self-hosted stacks can sit behind the same SDK via the proxy service.
Caveats
Paid plan required. This ships your workflow as infrastructure — quality still equals whatever graph you packaged. Pair it with Comfy Router when you also need frontier Partner models under one credit pool; pair it with Comfy Agent when you’re still building the graph.

Conclusion
If ComfyUI is already your craft surface, Comfy API is the same-day bridge from canvas to product: package once, deploy an endpoint, keep the engine open.
