Introduction

Your MiniMax H3 rig lives on a big desktop GPU, and your ideas show up on the couch. ComfyChair H3 connects the two. It's an unofficial Android client for ComfyUI built around MiniMax H3 video. Developer mohuaji96 published it on GitHub on Nov 2, with a signed v0.9.8.5 APK released at 08:26 UTC. It's open source under GPL-3.0 and forks ComfyChair, a general-purpose ComfyUI Android app with about 200 stars.

It's not a cloud service. The app talks only to your own ComfyUI server over your LAN or VPN, and your GPU does all the rendering. The phone handles prompts, references, queueing and the gallery.

What the H3 workspace adds

  • Four H3 modes from built-in templates based on the official ComfyUI H3 graphs: text-to-video, image-to-video, first/last-frame and reference-to-video
  • References: reference images, up to three reference audio slots, aspect ratio and megapixel controls
  • Duration locked to H3's documented 4–15 s range, so you can't queue an impossible job
  • Last-frame continuation: the app grabs the closing frame of a clip (or of any video you pick), attaches it as the next "Picture N" reference and writes the matching line into your prompt. Turn the switch off and it removes only the text it added.
  • Burst mode (连拍) repeats that loop automatically, so one idea becomes a chain of short segments that pick up where the last one stopped
  • Gallery that survives a ComfyUI restart (it merges its cached metadata back in), with image, video and favourite filters

You also get the upstream ComfyChair features: multi-server profiles, Basic Auth or API-key login, queue control, LoRA chains and a prompt library.

What you need

  • An Android 13+ phone (API 33)
  • A ComfyUI server with the MiniMax H3 nodes the templates use (MiniMaxH3ReferenceToVideo and friends) plus Video Helper Suite (VHS) for reference audio
  • A network path from phone to server: home Wi-Fi, or a VPN like Tailscale when you're out

First, start ComfyUI on the GPU machine so it listens on your LAN:

python main.py --listen 0.0.0.0 --port 8188

Then download the APK from the release page and open it on the phone, or push it from a computer over USB:

adb install ComfyChair_H3_0.9.8.5_release.apk

The package name is com.comfychair.h3, so it installs next to the original ComfyChair instead of replacing it.

Caveats

  • It's brand new: a single developer, zero stars when I checked, and release notes in Chinese. The README is in English, but some mode labels in the app are Chinese.
  • Builds before 0.9.8.4 were signed with a debug certificate. If you tried an early build, uninstall it once before installing 0.9.8.5.
  • You're sideloading a ~64 MB APK from GitHub. Check the SHA-256 listed in the release notes, or build it yourself with JDK 21 and Android SDK 36 (the repo includes 101 unit tests).
  • Keep your ComfyUI server on your LAN or behind a VPN. Don't open port 8188 to the whole internet just to make this work.
  • H3 is still heavy, and every clip renders on your own GPU. The phone is the remote, not the engine.

Conclusion

The best H3 shots often start as a half-formed idea far from your desk. ComfyChair H3 lets you catch that idea, set your references and queue it while the GPU at home does the work. Burst mode is the sweet spot: start a scene from your phone and let it grow, one last frame at a time. 📱🎬
