Introduction

This afternoon’s TaoMate-HD drop gave MiniMax H3 a progressive 480→768 audio-video stream path — but the public script was still a research-style runner. Hours later, slmonker shipped ComfyUI-TaoMateHD: an unofficial custom node that runs TaoMate-HD’s three model forwards inside one Comfy sampler, plus a Hub-ready Comfy-key LoRA convert.

  • Converted LoRA: slmonker/TaoMate-HD-preview-comfy — TaoMate-HD-preview-comfy.safetensors in Comfy key format with TaoMate per-module alpha. Do not load the upstream adapter_model.safetensors straight into Comfy.
  • Node name: TaoMate HD Progressive Sampler.

Sampling shape

Default steps=3 means two low-res forwards + one high-res forward over teacher states 0 / 16 / 33 / 49:

  • Low-res: sigma 1.0 → 16, then 16 → 33
  • Coupled lift: low-res latent → high-res latent
  • High-res: sigma 33 → 0

Supports T2VA and experimental Ref2VA via native H3 minimax_refs conditioning (Ref2VA is marked experimental vs the T2VA-only public TaoMate-HD script). Optional experimental 4 / 6 / 8-step splits are documented in the README.

Install and load

Needs ComfyUI with native MiniMax H3, plus H3 video VAE, audio VAE, and text encoder.

Conclusion

TaoMate-HD left the progressive H3 AV recipe in a lab runner; ComfyUI-TaoMateHD is the same-day bridge into a single progressive sampler node with a converted LoRA you can drop on LoraLoaderModelOnly. Unofficial — verify the H3 license territory before you ship product — but the graph path is finally there.
