Introduction

Higgsfield just unlocked a sharper trick inside Genjutsu: Restyle. Drop a 4–30 second clip, pick a visual style (or guide it with character refs), and get a redrawn video that still walks like the original — motion, shot timing, camera path, and source audio kept in place.

What shipped

  • Model / tool: Genjutsu Restyle (higgsfield/genjutsu/restyle/v1.0)
  • Vendor: Higgsfield
  • Modality: closed video-to-video restyle (API + web)
  • Where today: Higgsfield web → Video → Genjutsu → Styles; also Higgsfield API / MCP
  • Primary: Higgsfield changelog, Sep 30, 2026; full maker surface in the API reference
  • Concrete fact: output tiers bill roughly $0.318/s (480p), $0.681/s (720p default), $1.632/s (1080p) against source-video seconds (rounded up after a 30s trim)

Why makers care

Restyle is the “same performance, new look” button: cel-shaded anime, painterly plates, brand-world styles — without rebuilding the camera beat. System presets come from GET …/restyle/v1.0/presets (UUID preset_id required). Optional image_urls (up to 5 character refs in the public API) swap appearance while the source still drives motion. Source audio carries through; there is no “new soundtrack” toggle.

How to run it today

  1. Web: open Genjutsu → Styles, upload a clip ≥4s (≤200 MiB; longer files keep the first 30s).
  2. API: POST /higgsfield/genjutsu/restyle/v1.0 with video_url + a current preset_id from the presets catalog.
  3. Optional: add character refs + a short prompt for identity/role notes; set resolution to 480p / 720p / 1080p.

Caveats

Closed platform — not open weights. Changelog marketing mentions up to 30 style/reference images in the product UI; the public Restyle API currently documents 0–5 character images plus a required system preset. Exact frame count / FPS may shift with the style’s animation cadence. Consent and likeness rules still apply when restyling real people.

Conclusion

If you already like a take’s blocking and just want a different world wrapped around it, Genjutsu Restyle is the same-day Higgsfield SKU: pick a style, keep the motion, ship the look.
