Introduction

Krea 3 just got a Comfy-native on-ramp. On October 15, ComfyUI published that Krea’s instruction-driven image model is live as a Partner Node — hosted text-to-image and image editing inside your graph, with no weights to download and nothing running on your own GPU. If you already live in Comfy, you can call Krea 3 today with Comfy credits instead of waiting on a Krea beta workspace.

Primary sources: the ComfyUI partner-node announcement and the Krea 3 Partner Node tutorial.

What ships in the node

The Krea3ImageNode is one node for both generation and edits:

  • Leave all image inputs empty for text-to-image
  • Connect a starting image (plus optional refs) for instruction-driven edits
  • Up to 8 reference images, addressed in prompt order as @Image1, @Image2, and so on
  • Output at 1K or 2K, with aspect ratios including auto (follows the first reference, or the prompt when none is connected)
  • Thinking modes: fast (default, recommended) or high for complex multi-step edits
  • precise_edit: keep everything outside the edited area unchanged (needs at least one reference)

Comfy’s own framing matches Krea’s launch pitch: say what should change and what must stay, then iterate without frying a local GPU.

How to run it today

  1. Update ComfyUI to a build that includes the Krea 3 Image node (Comfy docs point at PR #17067 and workflow templates from workflow_templates 0.11.84 / 0.11.85), or open Comfy Cloud
  2. Search the Node Library for Krea 3, or load the Krea 3: Text to Image / Krea 3: Image Edit templates
  3. Sign in to your Comfy account — Partner Nodes bill Comfy credits
  4. Queue: SaveImageAdvanced writes to ComfyUI/output/

One practical limit from the docs: Krea rewrites the prompt before generating, so the same seed will not reproduce the same image. References are also scaled to the output pixel budget before upload, so 2K keeps more reference detail than 1K.

How this sits next to the Krea API

ArtRealmAI already covered Krea 3 API early access: beta-gated workspaces, public pricing from $0.03 / 1K, regional edits, and fal early access. That story has not gone to general availability yet.

This Comfy drop is the maker-facing distribution angle: same closed Krea 3 model, runnable inside Comfy graphs and Comfy Cloud today via Partner Nodes. It is not open weights, and it is not free local inference — it is the hosted path with Comfy’s login and credit meter.

Conclusion

If your edit loop already lives in Comfy, Krea 3 is no longer “request access and wait.” Pull the latest Comfy build (or Cloud), load the Krea 3 template, sign in, and start chaining precise instruction edits with up to eight numbered references. Keep an eye on Krea’s own GA window for the app/API side — when that lands, we will extend the existing early-access writeup rather than duplicate it.
