Krea Plugin for Photoshop Brings Krea Models to Layers

Introduction
Photoshop just got a new neighbor in its Plugins menu. Krea launched the Krea Plugin for Photoshop on October 7, a desktop plugin for macOS and Windows that brings Krea's image and video generation into your open document. Krea says it covers Nano Banana, Krea 2, GPT IMG 2.5, and every other model on Krea. Results come back as ordinary Photoshop layers, so you can mask, blend, and retouch them like any other pixels.
It's a closed, cloud-run tool. You sign in with a Krea account, the generation happens on Krea's servers, and the signed installers are live on krea.ai/plugins/photoshop right now.
What Shipped
From Krea's plugin page, the panel covers six jobs:
- Image and video generation from a prompt, without leaving the document
- Background removal and replacement, which lifts a subject and drops in a new scene matched to its lighting and perspective
- Realtime canvas: sketch or type and watch the image update live before you commit to a final generation
- Multi-shot layouts: turn one image into a set of consistent angles and crops for a layout
- Relighting: change the lighting and mood of a shot without reshooting
- Product mockups: place a product into a realistic scene for an ad or a pitch
Krea calls the download a signed installer for each OS. When we checked, the download link resolved to a .ccx plugin package, build v1.0.26, which Creative Cloud installs with a double-click.
Install in Two Minutes
- Download the installer for your OS from krea.ai/plugins/photoshop
- Double-click it, and Creative Cloud adds Krea to Photoshop
- In Photoshop, open Window → Plugins → Krea and sign in with your Krea account
- Keep an internet connection, since every generation runs on Krea's side
A Prompt to Try First
Select your subject layer, open the background-replacement tool, and give it a scene with clear light direction so the relight has something to match:
Rain-slicked rooftop terrace at blue hour, city lights glowing below, warm string lights overhead casting soft golden rim light from the left, light mist in the air, shallow depth of field, cinematic editorial photography. What It Costs
The plugin uses your normal Krea plan. The plans listed on the plugin page:
- Free: $0, with 100 compute units per day
- Basic: $9/month for 5,000 compute units, including all image models and a commercial license
- Pro: $35/month for 20,000 compute units, including all video models
- Max: $105/month for 60,000 compute units, plus unlimited relaxed generations
Good to Know
- It doesn't replace Generative Fill. Krea's FAQ says the plugin adds Krea's own models alongside Adobe's built-in tool.
- It's a family now. Krea launched Krea in After Effects on October 5 (Krea Agent can handle motion graphics, resizing, and sound inside AE), and a Krea for ChatGPT app sits on the same plugins hub.
- Version requirements are loose for now. The FAQ only says the plugin targets recent Photoshop versions on macOS and Windows.

Conclusion
The best AI tools are the ones that meet you where you already work. For retouchers and ad designers, that means the layer stack. Krea in Photoshop puts relighting, background swaps, and multi-angle layouts one panel away. Grab the free tier, relight one old product shot, and see how much of your round-tripping simply disappears.
