Vivix W1: Real-Time AI Video From $0.003 a Second

Introduction
Vivix W1 is a real-time video generation model from Vivix.ai, and as of this week anyone can use it. Vivix opened the W1 playground on October 9, 2026, switched on a limited-time price of about $0.003 per generated second on October 10, and added a $19 trial pack on October 11 after people asked for a cheaper way in.
It's a closed model, so there are no weights to download. You run it in the browser playground or through the Vivix API. It does text to video, image-reference to video, audio-reference to video, and first-and-last-frame to video, with clips from 5 to 15 seconds.
The pitch is simple: video cheap and fast enough that you can keep generating it while people interact with it, instead of waiting minutes per clip. Vivix first showed W1 off on October 5 as the engine behind Meme Arena, an endless playable livestream. This week's news is that makers can now call it directly.
Pro Tip
Start on the standard vivix-w1 model. All three W1 speed tiers give the same video quality according to Vivix's docs; the faster ones just cost more credits per second.
What Shipped
- Three speed tiers, one quality level.
vivix-w1costs 1 W credit per video second,vivix-w1-fastcosts 3, andvivix-w1-ultrafastcosts 4. - Seven task types, chosen by what you send. There's no mode switch. A prompt alone gives text to video. Add up to 5 reference images for consistent characters or style, up to 3 reference audio files for a guided soundtrack, or pin a first frame, a last frame, or both. Send the same image as first and last frame for a seamless loop.
- Clip options. Durations of 5 to 15 seconds, and aspect ratios of 16:9, 9:16, 1:1, 4:3, and 3:4.
- Free reference surcharges for now. Jobs that use reference images or audio cost the same as plain jobs through October 31, 2026.
- Preview status. Vivix lists W1 as "in preview with limited availability," so expect some rough edges.
What It Really Costs
The headline number is real, but it depends on which pack and tier you pick.
- $19 W1 Trial Pack: 5,700 W credits, valid for 90 days. Vivix says that's up to 380 clips of 15 seconds or 570 clips of 10 seconds.
- Per second on the trial pack: about $0.0033 on standard
vivix-w1, which Vivix confirmed on X. Larger packs land at the advertised $0.003. - Faster tiers cost more. At trial-pack rates,
vivix-w1-fastworks out to roughly $0.01 per second andvivix-w1-ultrafastto roughly $0.013 per second. - The $0.003 rate is a promo. Vivix's model page lists it as a limited-time discount through October 31.
- W credits are separate from A credits. Credits for Vivix's A1 avatar model can't be spent on W1, and a few early buyers on X said they bought the wrong pack by mistake. Look for the W series pack on the Vivix pricing page.
Launch week wasn't perfectly smooth. Before the $19 pack existed, the smallest W1 option was a $399 pack, and several users pointed out that the effective rate looked much higher than the headline. Vivix apologized, said the pricing page lagged behind the announcement, and added the smaller pack.
Vivix's Speed Claims
Vivix published its own comparison on the W1 page. It's the vendor's test, not an independent benchmark, so treat it as a starting point.
- Test setup: an 8-second clip with one reference image at 720p (768p for H3 Max), averaged over 10 runs, from submission to completion, not counting queue time.
- Generation time: W1 took 8.4 seconds, against 10.8 seconds for MiniMax H3 Max on fal, 145.9 seconds for Kling 3.0 Omni Std, 183.5 seconds for Seedance 2.0, and 272.4 seconds for Seedance 2.5.
- Listed price per output second: $0.003 for W1, $0.080 for H3 Max on fal, $0.112 for Kling 3.0 Omni Std, $0.151 for Seedance 2.0, and $0.231 for Seedance 2.5. Vivix says it checked competitor rates on October 8, 2026, and estimated Seedance at 24 fps.
Vivix also claims "comparable quality." The model page shows side-by-side clips against Seedance 2.0, Kling 3.0, and H3, so you can judge for yourself before spending credits.
Try It
The quickest route is the W1 playground, where new users get free credits. To call the API, grab a key from the Vivix platform and submit a job. This is the text-to-video example from Vivix's docs:
curl -X POST https://api.vivix.ai/v1/videos/jobs \
-H "Authorization: Bearer $VIVIX_API_KEY" \
-H "Content-Type: application/json" \
-d '{
"model": "vivix-w1",
"jobs": [
{
"prompt": "A traveler crosses a windswept salt flat at sunset as the camera slowly pulls back.",
"aspect_ratio": "16:9",
"duration": 8
}
]
}'You'll get a job_id back. Poll GET /v1/videos/jobs/{job_id} every few seconds until the status is succeeded, then download the clip from video_url. Each request carries exactly one job.
Vivix's prompting advice is practical: say who is in the scene, what happens, and how it ends, then add style, camera, and sound. Write "one continuous shot" if you don't want cuts, and use first, then, and finally to order the action. Here's a starter prompt in that shape:
One continuous shot. A street musician in a yellow raincoat sets up under a neon awning on a rainy night street. First she tunes her violin while passersby hurry past, then she starts to play and a small crowd gathers with umbrellas, finally the camera slowly rises above the crowd to show the glowing wet street. Warm cinematic lighting, soft rain ambience under the violin melody.Who It's For
W1 makes the most sense when you need a lot of video quickly: drafting dozens of variations of an idea, storyboarding with consistent characters from reference images, or building something interactive where the next clip depends on what a viewer just did. If you need one perfect hero shot, it's worth comparing it against your usual model first, since the quality claims so far are Vivix's own.

Conclusion
Cheap, fast video changes how you work: you stop rationing generations and start sketching with them. Vivix W1 is a closed preview with a promo price that ends October 31, so the smart move is to try the playground's free credits now, test the $19 pack if you like what you see, and keep an eye on what the price becomes in November.
